Recently, DSA’s project team had the pleasure of accompanying Massachusetts Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell on her visit and tour of the construction site of NorthStar Learning Centers, Inc.’s newest childcare center in New Bedford. Formerly home to St. Hyacinth’s Church, the site is being transformed into a brand new Early Learning Center serving 135 children. Set to open by the end of the year, the center will include state-of-the-art classroom and administrative office space, a community center, gallery, and commercial kitchen. The project will support the densely populated South End neighborhood, and reactivate an empty lot that has been unused for a significant period of time.
