Exciting Potential in Store for Roxbury?

On March 28th, at exactly 11AM, an eager group of attendees nervously awaited the opening of their proposal bid at the Transit Realty Office in downtown Boston. Responding to a request for proposals put out almost a year ago, a large part of those in attendance were from the Bartlett Place LLC team, the sole proposer. The proposal called for a development team to redevelop an abandoned MBTA bus maintenance site in Boston’s Roxbury neighborhood.

The Bartlett Place LLC is a joint venture partnership between the Nuestra Comunidad Development Corporation, Windale Developers, Inc. and the Banc of America CDC. Mostue & Associates Architects is excited to be a part of this highly competent, experienced and talented team.

Our proposed design responds to the unique location of the site, which is at a meeting point between the Dudley Square business district and the Highland Park, St. James, and St. Joseph neighborhoods. Through active participation in the community and community meetings, our proposal was built to address the community’s wishes as well as the requirements of the RFP. If approved, the site will boast a “wealth-generating” mixed-use development, including retail and residential space.

The sole proposal is currently under review by the Project Review Committee (“PRC”) whose role is to determine whether the proposal is either “responsive” or “non-responsive” to the requirements of the RFP.
