Holcroft Park Homes Ribbon Cutting

Beverly, MA, April 13, 2012 – The clear and sunny Friday morning marked the ribbon-cutting of Phase One of Holcroft Park Homes on Mill and Grant Streets of the Gloucester Crossing neighborhood. The ceremony featured an open house of the one unoccupied unit in the 20-unit building. Around100 people were in attendance, including State Representative John Tierney, as well as Mayor William Scanlon of Beverly, who spoke at the event.

 

The new construction of affordable housing was developed by the North Shore Community Development Coalition and the YWCA of the North Shore signifies the first phase of two. Davis Square Architects worked with the developers to meet the needs of rejuvenating the neighborhood, and maintaining a sense of community. Holcroft Park Homes is Energy-Star rated, and consists of an array of amenities including solar thermal hot water, LED light fixtures, sustainable building materials, professionally managed buildings, nearby parks and public transportation.

 

Construction and development was made possible by the funding and support of the City of Beverly, Massachusetts Housing Investment Corporation, Institution for Savings in Newburyport & Vicinity, Community Economic Development Assistance Corporation, Massachusetts Housing Partnership, North Shore HOME Consortium, Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development, Danvers State Hospital Fund, Boston Community Capital, The Life Initiative, and Community Economic Development Assistance Corporation.
