Renovation
48 units

Lexington, Massachusetts’ “Skirmish on the Green” began the American Revolution. This historically rich town boasts many beautiful and important colonial structures. In an attempt to preserve the town’s history and character, Davis Square Architects worked within the Lexington Historic District Commission guidelines to renovate 48 units of attractive colonial-style buildings. Arranged around two tree-lined courtyards in Lexington’s Historic District, these market-rate units required complete exterior renovation as well as a number of interior improvements.

The scope of work included replacement of siding and trim, roofs, entrance vestibules, windows and doors. New historically appropriate lighting, landscaping, cobble-paved walkways, site furniture, trellises and signage enhance the expansive courtyards. Interior renovations include a new common area wall, ceiling and floor finishes, lighting, furniture, and ornamental metal balusters and handrails. Battlegreen Apartments is now an attractive and sought-after location in the heart of Lexington Center.
