Georgetowne Homes, Hyde Park, MA

Scope
Renovation
967 units

Starting with a capital needs assessment, the renovations to the Georgetowne Homes was divided into three phases. Phase I, completed in 2010, was the renovation of mechanical systems (new boilers and ventilation systems) for 27 units. This grouping of units was then used as a prototype for the rest of the development. Phase II included the reskinning of the buildings, new siding, new entries and window replacement. Phase III included the provision of accessible units and site renovations for MAAB compliance.

New energy-efficient central heat and hot water systems, window and siding replacements, insulation improvements, as well as site and unit handicapped accessibility alterations make Georgetowne Homes a model for sustainability in other developments. All work was completed in fully occupied buildings.
