Working closely with Just-A-Start Corporation, Davis Square Architects extensively renovated this 273-unit high-rise community located just off of North Cambridge’s Alewife Brook Parkway. Dating back to 1970, many of the building’s components were in need of replacing in order to create a safe home for present and future tenants. The scope of work featured a dramatic modernization of the ground-floor amenities, including a new community room, health and fitness center, and tenant computer café.

Plumbing replacement, exterior masonry, window repairs and ventilation improvements are also part of the project, as well as flooring, bathroom and kitchen upgrades, new unit entry doors, common area improvements, and handicap accessibility in units and common areas. As a result, these efforts will help preserve this affordable community for many years to come, in one of the most expensive housing markets in the country.
