Info
Founded in 1885, Ellis Memorial & Eldredge House, Inc. is a non-profit social service agency with programs at multiple locations in Boston. Since its establishment, Ellis has not strayed from its original mission of serving neighbors in the South End community. The gut renovation of this historic 1924 building in Boston’s South End neighborhood provides Ellis with space to house their expanding infant, toddler and after-school programs.
The project’s highlights include a gym and multiple classrooms. The iconic building, a former church, underwent both interior and exterior renovations, including significant masonry repairs, new windows, and accessibility upgrades. 66 Berkeley is the finishing touch to the completion of the Ellis campus, and will help the children of Boston’s South End continue to receive the education and care they need. The building is located in the South End Landmarks District and utilized Federal and State historic tax credits.
