Davis Square Architects is currently working on the exciting conversion of the historic West Newton Armory into multi-generational affordable housing. Built between 1910-1912, the Armory housed the Massachusetts State National Guard for over 100 years.
Features of the design include preserving the castle-like appearance of the front facade; the former field house will be demolished to make way for 43 housing units in a new building. The design also boasts ample outdoor space, enhanced accessibility, garage parking for residents, and community space and offices.
Sustainability features include achieving Passive House certification, using all-electric infrastructure and solar panels.
