Paul Warkentin

Paul Warkentin is an Associate at Davis Square Architects and has been employed with the firm since 2003. He has over 15 years of professional experience in the design and development of a variety of building projects, including historic properties. Paul often assists owners and property managers by providing evaluations of existing properties for renovations. These capital needs assessments require site visits, investigation of the buildings’ systems, and coordination with engineers. He draws from his experience in renovation projects to establish the needed scope of work and budget.

Paul also has extensive knowledge of state and federal accessibility standards. He has conducted seminars on accessibility code compliance for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Housing & Community Development (DHCD), as well as assisted DHCD in developing accessibility review guidelines, community-based housing standards and Universal Design requirements. Previously Paul prepared a study comparing architectural aspects of various state and federal accessibility codes, regulations and guidelines.
