Greater Lawrence Community Action Council Childcare

This large new childcare center provides state-of-the-art spaces for up to 300 children from underserved communities in the Lawrence area. The building now serves as the center of all GLCAC’s childcare operations, including generous administrative and office areas, a full-size commercial kitchen, and staff resource rooms. Classrooms are designed to maximize access to light and outdoor spaces, with many of the classrooms opening to adjacent playgrounds. Generous stairs and brightly colored halls with seating areas provide easy circulation and flexible use of all areas.

Many years in the making, the new center was designed and built around an adjacent existing facility, which was removed after construction. This allowed children and staff to transition seamlessly from their outdated building to the new facility.
